Hien Nguyen Soprano is fresh and reckless with 'Yeu'
Yeu is a true classical crossover music night. Being able to speak and sing well in English, Italian and French helps Hien Nguyen confidently bring to the audience a rich and open program with familiar songs from Vietnam and the world, of different genres.
Possessing a precious soprano, majoring in opera at the Milan Conservatory of Music (Italy), Hien Nguyen has just performed her first solo live show - Love, which took place last night, 7.3, at the French Institute (Hanoi).
Hien Nguyen Soprano has an unexpected and new combination with a jazz band, led by artist Tuan Nam.
Yeu is a true classical crossover music night. Being able to speak and sing well in English, Italian and French helps Hien Nguyen confidently bring to the audience a rich and open program with familiar songs from Vietnam and the world, of different genres.
Previously, the music director of the show, musician Tuan Nam - also affirmed that music has no borders, and Hien Nguyen Soprano won't have any problems performing these songs through brand new remixes.
The improvisation of jazz will only give the performances a new uniqueness than the audience imagines.
The familiar melodies of the English folk song Scarborough fair are presented through a semi-classical singing style like soaring on a simple, rustic accompaniment, drawing a peaceful and mellow scene.
Right after that, the bustle and excitement came in the overwhelming bossa nova color of the song Manha de Carnaval. There, Hien Nguyen was comfortable "adventure" with the band, bringing the passionate taste of South America to the listener.
If seniors Khanh Ha and Thanh Ha used to sing Manha de Carnaval (with Vietnamese lyrics entitled Bai ngoi ca tinh yeu) in a romantic and sexy style, then Hien Nguyen chose a new treatment: pure, happy and flying.
Then, she sublimated the whole audience with J'taime (a song associated with the famous singer Lara Fabian's name) with her powerful soprano, skillful vocal technique, and "explosive" emotions in a show to celebrate 15 years of his career.
As shared by artist Tuan Nam, in this liveshow will appear performances that challenge both the singers and the listeners, typically the Dry Sea with a jazz ballad-style mix in the first half, and in the second half, the difficulty is doubled when it turns into free jazz with a faster, more intense tempo, and bolder improvisational colors.
Along with the title song "Yeu" in the smooth jazz style, the "heat" of The shallow sea is not inferior to the song Manha de Carnaval. Hien Nguyen has shown that she really has a "predestined relationship" with jazz, just need to find a suitable matchmaker like Tuan Nam.

Previously, Hien Nguyen was able to lead the audience into the world of romantic love through two charming pop songs: Mua he dep nhat and Nhu chua bat dau. In the following song, the presence of 4 guys from OnePlus group made the song stronger, and a little push in the style of smooth jazz also made the song more romantic, especially in the contrasting vocal performances between Hien Nguyen and the guests.
The participation of two trumpeters and trombones in the Jazz Night Male band creates bright spots, not only helping the jazz color become richer, the accompaniment becomes richer, but also create a feeling of vastness and remoteness like in the song Speak softly love and especially Caruso - one of the most romantic love songs of Italian music. Hien Nguyen's classical vocal technique is also evident in Caruso, with a thorough mix of power ballad influences.
Many classical crossover lovers did not dare to think that they would hear the song Caruso live and again a standard version of Caruso, from the vocals to the scholastic accompaniment. Likewise, Manha de carnaval not only brings excitement to those who have been fascinated by it, but also those who enjoy for the first time the immortal song that came out of the first film to win the award at the Cannes Film Festival of Brazilian cinema.
Closing the show with the classic song Phantom of the opera performed with Oplus guest, Hien Nguyen showed that she is still very "sweet." It is this fire of passion, plus a bit of recklessness in her personality, helping the female singer find a new direction for herself to confidently perform an interesting but equally "risky" night of music when many domestic audiences are still somewhat hesitant with classical interference.
All efforts of Hien Nguyen Soprano paid off, as the loud applause echoed throughout the performance was proof.
